July 25- Ferris 1 Lakeside Skyline 7
The Saxons dropped game one of the State Tournament in what was a pitchers duel for the majority of the game. Spencer Ansett took a 0-0 tie and a one hitter into the bottom of the 6th and thats when the trouble came. After a lead off double Spencer ran into some bad luck as Skyline hitters just seemed to find hole after hole. Spencer came out with a 3-0 deficit but struck out 9 batters and only allowed 3 hits. Skyline added four more runs in the inning. Dillon Hashimoto came in and threw one pitch and ended the inning with a 1-6-3 double play. The Saxons did not quit loading the bases in the top of the seventh and scoring a run after Marcus Howard was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded but it was not enough. The Saxons had three hits on the day and they were Blake Bozett, Ben Goodwin, and Ben Pelle. Offensively the Saxons had their chances but failed to get the big hit.
July 18- Ferris 0 University 3
Ferris dropped game one of the series to the Titans in what was a classic pitchers duel. Keller Ewing threw an outstanding game and took a shutout into the seventh inning. The Saxons only had four hits and were lead by Beau Bozett who had two hits in the game.
July 18- Ferris 4 University 2
Ferris took the second of the series to even the series at 1 to 1. Chase Haack came through with another solid outing and took a shutout into the seventh. Chase only allowed five hits on the day. Offensively the Saxons were lead by Travis Key who had three hits in the game. Jason Renner also had two hits in the game.
July 19- Ferris 11 University 1
The Saxons dominated the deciding game of the series from start to finish and earned a spot in the championship game against Mt. Spokane. Jason Renner delivered a gutsy performance pitching on only two days rest and that's if you don't count the two outs he pitched the day before. Jason was nearly untouchable and only allowed 3 hits in the game that ended in the sixth due to the 10 run rule. Jason had a perfect game into the fourth inning and struck out 9 Titan hitters. In the second through the fourth inning Renner struck out 6 of the 9 hitters. Offensively the Saxons bats heated up and totalled 14 hits. Chase Haack had 3 hits and Keller Ewing, Ben Pelle, and Spencer Ansett all had two hits. The Saxons now play on Monday at 7:00PM for the Championship and the #1 seed to the State Tournament. The game will be played at Shadle Park against American League Champion Mt. Spokane.
