Highlights:
The Saxons got back on the winning track on Tuesday at home against the Knights by a score of 10-0. Derek Peterson went the distance in the 5 inning win allowing just 2 hits. The offense was lead by the bottom of the order as the 7,8,& 9 hitters for the Saxons were a combined 6 for 7 with 5 runs scored and 5 rbi. Mr. Saxon Brett Ward was 2 for 2 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi. Eight hitter Drew Henery was 2 for 2 with 1 run scored and 1 rbi. Ninth grade standout Ben Goodwin was 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored and 2 rbi. CJ Haney was also 2 for 3 with 1 run scored and 2 rbi. The Saxons finish the home and home series on Thursday at East Valley
Ferris 14 Rogers 2
Highlights:
Gabe Arguinchona gave up two first inning runs and then pitched five scoreless innings to lead the Saxons to the win Thursday at Rogers. The offense continued their hot hitting as they racked up 15 hits to go with the 16 on Tuesday. CJ Haney, Aaron Roberts, Ryan Krustangel, Brett Ward, and Ben Goodwin all had two hits. Ben Pelle had his first hit of his varsity career with a single up the middle in the 6th inning. The Saxons scored seven runs in the forth inning as Ryan Krustangel and Mr. Saxon Brett Ward had rbi doubles. The completion of the home and home series is Friday at 4:00 at John Thacker Field. The field will be dedicated to the long-time Saxon Head Coach who lead the Saxons for 28 years.
Ferris 13 Central Valley 4
Highlights:
Derek Peterson gave up only three hits and the Saxon bats exploded for 16 hits as the home team beat the number two GSL team 13-4 at John Thacker Field on Tuesday. The warm weather brought out the biggest crowd of the year and they were treated to some fireworks. Keller Ewing went 4 for 4 with a homerun and 4 rbis. Ben Goodwin added a three-run homer and Aaron Roberts added a two-run blast as the Saxons left no doubt about this one from early on. The Saxons scored 4 runs in the first inning and never looked back. Drew Henry had his first hit of the year, a line drive to left field.
